Every guild has its policy concerning the access to the elite zone. From what i saw in HzH:
AE (or IAsI as they changed names today) don't want anybody except them in the zone.
LUST is ferrying for amber (surely cause they want their armors and can't buy amber with faction, as they give everything to their alliance).
As for orKs, we have a policy to accept tips if they are willingly given, but not to ask for it. So if you saw someone from orKs asking for a charge, it was clearly against the alliance policy.

It totally depends on who do the ferry. One member of LUST ferried many people in HzH last night for free but he said that tips are appreciate. That means you don't have to pay to get to the elite mission. I gave him tips because he spent his time to do ferrying instead of farming or playing so it would be some kind of small compensation for his time. As long as the holding alliance opens elite missions to all players (without mandatory fees) then I am OK with that.
By the way, TC is still the best because they keep their promise for all the time. Thanks to them the Deep has become a popular and busy place which provides good time for a lot of players.

Let's just give everything to everyone for free. On second thought, these people would still find something to bitch about then anyway.

Let them charge if they wish.
These elite missions were created for hardcore farmers who wanted to own something more than just FoW armor and who have the time and dedication to get themselves something nice. Either way, you can always find free ferries into The Deep.
If you want to enter the town for free, go farm the 9 million faction needed to control it.

Alright, I'm in the LUST Alliance (the group who was ferrying), and I'll offer an answer on this issue.
There was no policy regarding fees.
In American 1, ther was no one, AFAIK, charging for entry. Mainly because me and a Guildy were competing for tips.
In International 1, However, some members charged for it. However, the people in HzH were responding violently, giving insults to the Alliance.
Henceforth, there's nothing I can do about that.
When we regain the House, I'll ferry International players for free (or tips. ), just send me a whisper.

Alright, there appears to be a heated discussion about this matter in the LUST channel.
I'll report our stance soon.

i dont think they should farry ether because it should only be acussable to the fraction who has most terrtory, almost like UW in a way as some one said 1k for UW is'nt to bad when you have so much money but i have highs and lows (in game) some times my ecto farming pays off other times its flat. in a way i did buy factions for 2 things. one farm over their. two eleit missions.

[LUST] ruled that anyone can charge what they want and that it's up to the players to find the best deals.
Henceforth I'll still be doing it for free/tips.
Meanwhile, Alex, what type of system do you have proposed? There isn't really anything you can do...

I can't believe this is even an issue. The town is theirs.
You wouldn't yell at me for charging you gold to use my dagger. Either pay it or don't...but you guys saying they should be banned for charging are out of your minds.

Sigh WTF is wrong with some people. LUST is taking the time to ferry people there and taking the time to farm for faction points. Honestly, i am very thankful for it and if i had money or amber i could give them i would.
Suffice to say i am poor as hell.
LUST and TC have done everyone a great service I can never be thankful enough for. I just wish some people would have the decency and intellect to acknowledge what they are doing as well.
If i can pay for it then i will. IMHO the damn elite mission is a frigging pain especially when leavers and complainers are with the team. I'd go so far as to say leroy-people are a LOT better than the two above.
I have had the luck to be with a good team when i played the elite mission and despite 3 people leaving we were able to get some good mileage.
By the time we all quit, I think we were all enjoying 60DPs for some time. Heheheheheheehe.

OK my 2 cents: The controlling allince had to work very hard to get the town - imagine how much amber/jadeite they've let slip by. TC has to farm 1 million faction per day just to break even lol. They are totally within their rights to charge for a ferry - or to not allow access at all.
That having been said, both LUST and TC have players that do it for free or say "optional tips". I always offer 1k for a ferry (and often they turn me down and do it for free), just because I can afford it and respect them for doing it - it's good for the GW community as a whole and kudos to them (and any other past/future alliance which behaves in the same way). If you run the elite missions with a halfway decent group, you will make yoru 1k back, trust me.

One thing. Get necrotic transversal cuz ur gonna need it. Loose your necro and kiss the elite mission goodbye.

or you could just use the "rebirth under the bridge" trick.
the mission is only hard if your team sucks.

There are plenty of ways to get enough faction without spending a single second in Competitive Missions, so I don't know where you're going with this. Most PvPers have far better places to stroke their egos. Namely, GvG and Hall of Heroes.
Owning a town is a PvE goal and is more likely done by PvE orientated Alliances.

Nothing wrong with a little gold or item charge for access to an elite mission what ever it is you KNOW for a fact its going to be cheaper then trying to join a Faction farming alliance in the long run. both in time and resources. So I will not begrudge them anything they want within reason for access if they so chose to do something along that line. After all the Elite missions are 100% optional. So there are 3 choices...- Earn your way there with faction farming...
- Get lucky and get ferry to the area either for free or a marginal and reasonable charge.
- and finally Anet has said that Very soon there will be yet another way to get to the elite missions... So its a wait and see what number 3 is...

The only problem I see is that some time you can't fins anyone in the holding alliance to ferry you to elite missions due to the fact that there is no member in house. I know that orKs offered free ride but couldn't find anyone ferry me to the mission in American districts. As long as alliances open the door to everyone for free or tips then I am totally fine with that. But if you keep elite missions to yourself than you kill the fun of the game.

That is their decision so we shouldn't feel sympathetic that they sacrificed time and "money" and tip or allow them to charge for entry.
Other than that I read alot of posts that did calm me down on this matter and I accept the whole concept of the owning alliances asking for tip. I just don't agree with it.

They made that decision and now have the option of cashing in off of it. And they do deserve it. You're entitled to absolutely nothing, though, and your original post honestly makes me laugh.
It's not fair, they HAVE to carry me over for free! I wont pay them a thing! If I can't have access, no one will! BAN them!
